Fireworks Suisse Style at the Fete De Geneve

The last two weeks here have been the Geneva Festival or as it is called here, the Fete De Geneve. Merry-go-rounds were set up in the city and a ferriswheel by the lake. There were also international food vendors offering delicacies from their countries and all sorts of things to buy and see.

The last night of Fete, there was a huge fireworks show. People start lining the lake and sitting in bleacher seats hours before the Fireworks even begin. We enjoyed an excellent homemade mexican fiesta meal with friends and then headed to Paul's office, about 20 minutes before the fireworks began. Paul's office opens to the Mount Blanc Bridge and the mouth of Lake Leman,(Geneva) where they set off the fireworks. Making it a magnificent place to catch the show. We brought treats and went out on one of the balconies to see and hear the show. The fireworks were set to beautiful music and some of the colors and types of fireworks were something I had never seen before.

On a side note, my dear, sweet husband vacuumed every spider and web he could see in the dark on that balcony. This made it possible for me, a woman who is SOOOO afraid of spiders to view the show from the wonderful balcony. Is that not the best husband in the world?

After the hour show, we walked to the train station with the crowds still in a festival mood and took the train home to our village. It was a fun night and a great ending to the Fete De Geneve!
